“When I first set the decoy up in my office I didn’t think the thing would ever work and would end up scaring deer, but I was wrong! Once you’re up in a tree looking at it, the decoy looks very good. I was shocked to say the least.”
“First deer in the food plot noticed it right way, and walked to within 15 yards of the decoy. It stood there for a few minutes tested the wind then went back to where it came from and started to feed. Overall I thought this would be great for new hunters because it easily kept the deer focusing on something else, rather than worrying about a hunter.”
“Had my daughter chose to shoot the yearling buck she could have easily done so.
I think during the rut that a buck would come running in to check out the movement and I’m looking forward to see if my assumption is correct come November.”

On November 12th I went to a Kids Hunting for A Cure banquet. I saw Scot’s display for his decoys and stepped over to check it out. We started to talk about decoys and the advantages of a moving decoy and I started thinking there might be something to this. As we talked about the decoy and deer body language the conversation turned to why I was at the banquet. I told him I was a guide the next day for our hunting club and we were taking six youth hunters to hunt on our property. Out of the blue Scot graciously offered to let us take one of his “Deer BUTT Decoys” out the next day to try. My hunter turned out to be a ten year old girl that had never hunted before. The next morning I met up with my hunter Kayley and her Dad Rick. When we got to our shooting house, Kayley and I set up the “Deer BUTT Decoy” in the dark in about two minutes. We got in the shooting house and started our wait. It was slow at first. The whole time I was thinking this field is 300 yards long how is she going to get a shot. My question was answered at 8:45 when a small spike and three does walked onto the field at about the 200 yard mark. They didn’t notice the decoy at first but when they did the spike came at a full run to within about 100 yards and stopped. After checking it out, he came on to about 70 yards with the doe’s close behind him. After that I think he saw movement or heard a sound in the shooting house and left the field.
Fast forward to the afternoon hunt. I left the decoy on the field with the tail running while we went and ate lunch. We came back around 1:30 and got back in the shooting house. We didn’t have to wait long until the same spike with a doe and two young deer came out. Again he made about a 100 yard run to the decoy, stopped, put his head down and started grazing. He grazed up to within 50 to 60 yards giving Kayley multiple broadside shots the whole time. My girl didn’t shoot though she decided to hold out for a bigger buck. We watched these deer till dark and had to leave the field with the deer still there. By this time they had moved in to about 20 yards calmly grazing the whole time. There is no doubt in my mind, had it not been for the decoy, these deer would most likely not have gotten close enough for her to get a shot. I am sold on these decoys and the theory behind them and will use them everywhere I have an opportunity. Many thanks to Scot for letting us use his decoy and to Kids Hunting For a Cure for the opportunity to take a kid hunting who might not have gotten a chance to hunt. It was a good day of hunting and will be a very good memory from now on.

“One of our hunters killed a big scrub horn buck using your buck decoy on our home place (Southern Oaks Hunting Club) Saturday afternoon. He was hunting in the Gravel Pit Field sitting in the shooting house with the buck decoy surrounded by Tink's 69 and blowing his Modern Game Call doe call softly and sparingly. The buck came to the edge of the field and stuck his head and neck out and looked intently at your buck decoy. He never took his focus off of your buck decoy the whole time when Mark shot him through the neck killing him in his tracks. Mark said that he made all kinds of noise getting the rifle in position and yet the buck never paid him any attention because he was totally focusing on your buck decoy!!! Mark told me while we loaded the buck that as soon as he squeezed the trigger he exclaimed: "I love this decoy and I'm buying one!!” Proverbs 17:17”

“Hello Scot, My son Josh is friends with Shawn. He “borrowed” a decoy this past winter & I used it on a Saturday hunt. Had a nice 8 point come into rattling & he was spell bound by the decoy. Actually had a smaller buck as well & the two of them had a shoving contest! At any rate your product works. If I can help in any promotional way let me know.”

“I used my TailTRICK on one afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Al. It was a raining miserable day. I had a Buck come out to feed. He appeared very cautious when he first came out on the other end of the field. I was waiting to see what he was going to do when he spotted my two decoys, the doe and buck combo. He stopped, gave a 3-4 second stare, and seemed to calm down as he continued to feed for another 15 min. I passed, on this young guy, hoping he will grow up for next year.”
“On another hunt I had a big buck coming toward the decoys but learned a valuable lesson about placement. The wind had changed a bit and as the buck was moving in the right direction, my scent, crossed the path he was taking and I got busted. I can see where next year, I will use it to draw the bucks out onto the field in the afternoon, where the more deer there are on the field the more likely the bigger bucks will show up before dark. The does do not mind having the TailTRICK decoys out on the field with them.”

“I am looking forward to this deer season (2010-2011) and using my TailTRICK decoy again. I used it 8 times last year and was glad to see proof that it works as a confidence decoy. On two separate hunts I witnessed a doe and a spike enter the green field and calmly feed while sharing the field with the TailTRICK. I really believe this season a mature buck will investigate the decoy and hopefully give me time for a shot. As a former duck hunter, I appreciate the advantage the TailTRICK deer decoy gives me over other deer hunters using the same property.”
